LucyRx Launches Employer GLP-1 Benefit Using Manufacturer Net Pricing to Expand Access

PBM-native program gives employers direct access without adding vendors

Bethesda, Md., May 27, 2026: LucyRx, an independent pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) focused on transforming prescription care through transparent pricing and performance-based fees, announced the launch of an employer GLP-1 benefit using manufacturer net pricing. The program introduces a new GLP-1 coverage model for employers, bringing manufacturer net pricing directly into the pharmacy benefit design employers already manage.

Employers are under growing pressure to support GLP-1 access while maintaining predictable pharmacy benefit costs. The LucyRx program allows employers to offer GLP-1 coverage through their existing PBM benefit with transparent pricing and integrated clinical support.

“GLP-1 therapy is changing healthcare, but access models haven’t kept pace with the reality of how people pay for and stay on these medications,” said David Blair, Chief Executive Officer of LucyRx. “LucyRx was built to align pricing, benefit design, and clinical support in one coordinated model. Sponsors contribute, members save, and the price is actually the price. There is no rebate math, no parallel workflow, and no new vendor to manage.”

How the Program Works

The LucyRx GLP-1 program routes eligible prescriptions to a dedicated net-priced dispensing pharmacy using National Drug Code (NDC) logic within the PBM benefit.

Members access GLP-1 medications at manufacturer net prices rather than rebate-inflated list prices. What employers and members see is the actual price of the medication.

The new GLP-1 program also connects members with a team of LucyRx Care Guides, which includes registered nurses who provide personalized support, talk through side effects, and help members stay consistent with treatment.

Key features of the LucyRx GLP-1 program include:

  • Employer-controlled benefit design determining which populations and NDCs route to net-priced dispensing
  • Manufacturer net pricing at true acquisition cost rather than rebate-driven pricing
  • Fully integrated LucyRx member experience from prescription routing through dispensing
  • Clinical and safety checks guided by evidence-based logic
  • One-to-one support from LucyRx Care Guides
  • PBM-native claim system integration
  • Flexible sponsor cost-sharing

“What makes LucyRx different is that we didn’t bolt a GLP-1 program onto the side of the benefit. We built it directly into the PBM infrastructure employers already trust,” said Susan Thomas, Chief Commercial Officer of LucyRx. “That gives employers the pricing visibility and operational control they need to say yes to GLP-1 coverage.”

Why Now

Roughly half of commercially insured employees still lack coverage for GLP-1 therapies used for weight management, highlighting the growing need for sustainable employer GLP-1 coverage models. Even as new direct-access models emerge, employers continue to face pressure to support access while maintaining predictable pharmacy benefit costs.

Recent manufacturer-led employer access initiatives have reinforced how quickly the GLP-1 market is evolving and how urgently employers need pricing models they can actually manage.

LucyRx integrates manufacturer net pricing directly into the PBM infrastructure employers already manage, allowing sponsors to offer GLP-1 access without adding a separate vendor or parallel program.

This GLP-1 benefit launch also follows LucyRx’s new white paper, The Hidden Coverage Gap: Why GLP-1 Exclusions Disproportionately Harm Women in Perimenopause and Menopause, which examines how blanket GLP-1 exclusions can create access gaps for midlife women with elevated cardiometabolic risk. The paper frames GLP-1 coverage not only as a weight-management issue, but also as a benefit design, cardiovascular risk-reduction, and workforce health question for employers.

Built to Scale

The LucyRx net-priced formulary extends beyond GLP-1 therapies. As additional manufacturers introduce net-priced products across cardiometabolic and specialty categories, LucyRx enables employers to determine which therapies belong in their net-priced benefit design.
