Susan Thomas, Chief Commercial Officer of LucyRx, recently authored an article for Pharmaceutical Executive on what innovation in PBM management really looks like.
In the article, Susan highlights a few ways next-generation PBMs are flipping the script and proving pharmacy care can be more transparent, affordable and patient-focused.
Turning data into foresight: Using transparent pricing, real-time delivery updates and predictive analytics gives patients a better look into the pharmacy supply chain and can help spot care issues before they become crises.
Innovation should feel human: With primary care shortages worsening, empowering pharmacists to practice at the top of their license expands access and helps patients understand their care. The same can be said for health coaches and care guides.
Breaking free of outdated revenue streams: By removing themselves from the vertically integrated revenue model, innovative PBMs can better align incentives, put clinical appropriateness first and deliver savings without layers of complexity.
“The future belongs to those who combine technology-driven efficiency with human-first care,” Susan wrote in the article.
